Vancouver is member of 100 Resilient Cities network

What does resilience mean?

As defined by 100RC, “urban resilience is the capacity of individuals, communities, institutions, businesses, and systems within a city to survive, adapt, and grow, no matter what kind of chronic stresses and acute shocks they experience.”

The 100 Resilient Cities program “facilitates the adoption and incorporation of resilience in cities to shocks, such as earthquakes, fires and floods, and stresses like poverty and other social issues. The 100 cities chosen include 23 in the U.S. and represent 48 countries across six continents.”
