What is DEEP
Dunbar Earthquake and Emergency Preparedness is a group of local volunteers helping our community prepare for disaster.
We are a non-profit group, made up of volunteers and neighbours, ready to help the community respond to any emergency.

Community Connections
DEEP is about building a strong community. Research shows that in a disaster, people working together have a better chance of survival than individuals acting alone. Prepared neighbourhoods are resilient neighbourhoods.
Amongst other activities, The Map Your Neighbourhood (MYN) program helps residents coordinate after a disaster by identifying local hazards, those in need, and individuals with valuable skills or resources to enhance community response.
Disaster Support Hub
Behind the tennis courts in Memorial West Park is our Support Hub
A Disaster Support Hub (DSH) is a designated location where community members can gather after a disaster to coordinate efforts, share information, and assist one another.
DEEP manages and runs Dunbar’s hub, which is the most advanced in the city of Vancouver.
We are a volunteer run organisation

DEEP is an all-volunteer group and welcomes new members with all skills and capabilities, including multilingual skills reflecting our community diversity.
